Meccanotecnica Umbra has, as always, set itself the goal of implementing environmentally friendly in-house and outsourced production processes, promoting protection and adapting its organisation and operating methods to the requirements of the relevant standards.

• The formal process began in 1999 when the environmental management system was certified in accordance with the requirements of standard ISO 14001.
• 2. In 2007, a further step was taken that testifies to the company's social responsibility and commitment to combining economic performance and environmental protection: adherence to the EU EMAS Regulation.

The maturity achieved in recent years has enabled the Group to implement an Integrated Environment and Safety Management System (IMS) with the overriding aim of harmonising corporate development with full respect for all stakeholders, prioritising continuous improvement of environmental services and health and safety in the workplace.

In March 2014, in culmination of the well-established policy of strong interpenetration between business aspects and values, MTU also achieved ISO 45001 certification.
